Natco Pharma ltd has launched a generic version of pomalidomide capsule under the brand name of Pomalid which is used in the treatment of a type of blood cancer in India. Pomalid capsules come in the strength of 1 mg, 2 mg and 4 mg.
Description:
Pomalid 4 mg Capsule is used with dexamethasone to treat a type of blood cancer known as multiple myeloma in patients who have already received at least 2 therapies including lenalidomide and a proteasome inhibitor, and has not improved during 60 days of completion of the last therapy. This medicine is not recommended for patients below 18 years of age.
Dosage:
Take this medicine by mouth with or without food as directed by your doctor or nurse, usually once daily for 21 days, then stopping the medication for 7 days. This is one cycle of treatment. Continue taking the medicine in this way or as directed by your doctor.
Swallow the capsules whole with water. Never open, break, crush or chew the capsules. The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, laboratory test results, and other medications you may be taking.
