Glenza is the brand name of this medicine. The generic present in this medicine is Enzalutamide. It comes in the form of capsules. Each capsule has the strength of 40 mg. Each hard gelatin capsule contains Enzalutamide of 40 mg and excipients. Colors used in each capsule shell are Tartrazine, sunset yellow. Glenza is manufacture by Glen mark.
This medicine is used in the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) in adults whose disease has progressed on or after Docetaxel therapy.
Method of administration
Enzalutamide is for oral use. The capsules should be swallowed whole without opening and are not to be chewed or opened.
Dosage and Administration:
The recommended dose is 160 mg as a single oral daily dose. If the patient misses taking medicine, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is the time for next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose.
Overdose:
There is no antidote for Enzalutamide. In the event of an overdose treatment with Enzalutamide should be stopped and general supportive measures initiated taking into consideration the half-life of 5.8 days. Patients may be at increased risk of seizures following an overdose.
