Description:

Erlotinib is used for the treatment of patients with locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer after failure of at least one prior chemotherapy regimen. Erlotinib in combination with gemcitabine is used for the first-line treatment of patients with locally advanced, unrespectable pancreatic cancer. 

Dosage:

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: The recommended daily dose of Erlocip is 150 mg taken at least one hour before or two hours after having the food. Continue the treatment until the medicine shows some effect on disease.

 Pancreatic Cancer: The recommended daily dose for patient having pancreatic cancer is 100 mg taken at least one hour before or two hours after having the food, in combination with gemcitabine. Treatment should continue until the medicine shows some good results.

Side Effects:

Like all other medicine, this medicine has some side effects. Some common side effects are:

• Nausea and vomiting
• Fatigue
• Loss of appetite
• Weight loss
• Anaemia
• Fever
• Rash
• Abdominal pain

Some serious side effects are:

• Persistent and severe diarrhoea
• Sudden difficulty in breathing
• Severe pain in abdomen
